Get connected in three simple steps
Alis eSIM replaces your physical SIM with a digital one. No store visits, no waiting for shipping — just buy, scan, and connect.
Choose your destination & plan
Browse our destinations, pick the country or region you're traveling to, and choose a data plan that fits your trip length and usage.
Receive your eSIM by email
Right after checkout, we email you a QR code and activation details. You can also find your eSIM anytime in your Alis eSIM dashboard.
Install your eSIM
On your phone, go to Settings and add a new eSIM by scanning the QR code — or use our one-tap install link sent to your email.
Connect when you land
Turn on data roaming for your new eSIM line when you arrive at your destination, and you're online instantly — no roaming fees, no searching for Wi-Fi.
Check your phone is eSIM-compatible
Most phones from the last few years support eSIM. Here's how to check before you buy.
iPhone
Go to Settings → General → About, and check the "Carrier" or look for "Digital SIM" under Mobile/Cellular Data. iPhone XS, XR, and newer all support eSIM.
Android
Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs (or Connections → SIM Manager). If you see an option to add an eSIM or download a SIM, your device is compatible.
Some carrier-locked phones can't install third-party eSIMs. If you're unsure, contact us before purchasing.
Installing your eSIM
Two ways to install — pick whichever is easiest on your device.
Option 1: Scan the QR code
- Open your phone's Settings app
- Go to Mobile/Cellular Data → Add eSIM (or Add Mobile Plan)
- Choose "Use QR Code" and scan the code from your confirmation email
- Follow the on-screen prompts to finish setup
Option 2: One-tap install link
- Open the confirmation email or your dashboard on the phone you want to use
- Tap the "Install eSIM" button
- Confirm the installation when prompted by your phone
- Your eSIM is added automatically — no scanning needed
Activating your data plan
Your eSIM installs as a new line, but your data plan only starts counting once you arrive and turn on data roaming for that line. We recommend installing your eSIM before you travel (while on Wi-Fi), then enabling data roaming for it after you land.
- Go to Settings → Mobile/Cellular Data
- Select your new Alis eSIM line
- Turn on "Data Roaming" for that line
- Set your primary line for calls/texts and the Alis eSIM for data, if needed
